Years of experience and time with ModuSpec: Over 30 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, including three years with ModuSpec.
What does a typical workday look like for you?
Preparing and managing various rig inspection and assurance projects. This includes:
- Being involved in BD meetings with potential clients as the ModuSpec technical SME.
- Interacting with clients and rig operators as the ModuSpec focal point for a project and advising on technical enquiries.
- Liaising with the ModuSpec operations, deliverables and HSE teams to ensure the surveyors are prepped ready to successfully complete a project.
- Project managing the surveys and reviewing the provided reports and information daily.
- Assisting the deliverables department as an integral part of the final reporting QA process.
- Working as part of the team preparing and executing the ModuSpec Rig Inspection Workshops.
What are your key tasks or responsibilities?
- Preparing and managing ModuSpec projects from initiation to completion.
- Mentoring and assisting surveyors in the field on projects.
- Building and continuing work relationships with clients and rig operators.
- Assisting BD in client facing meetings as the technical SME.
Who do you collaborate with most often? I collaborate closely with the ModuSpec BD, deliverables and operations teams as well as the other ModuSpec Technical Specialists.
What do you enjoy most about your job, team, or ModuSpec culture? What I enjoy most about working for ModuSpec as a Technical Specialist is the opportunity to be part of a globally respected team that meets the needs of the various clients who look to ModuSpec to provide the assurance they require to confidently choose a rig and safely operate the rigs they have hired. The collaboration among technical specialists, the sharing of knowledge, and the collective drive to uphold industry standards make it a very fulfilling environment. The chance to collaborate with experienced colleagues and continuously learn from real-world inspections keeps the role both rewarding and dynamic.
Any fun facts, hobbies, or something your colleagues might not know about you? I am a live music fan and can be found regularly in pubs concert halls and festivals listening to live bands. I once met Frank Sinatra and asked if he would give me a shot of his aeroplane…. Unfortunately, he said no.
